Kinnie in Second, England Third After Day One at King Intercollegiate

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Reagan Kinnie (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) shot a two-over 73 to place second after day one of the King Intercollegiate and teammate Elizabeth England's (Oakland, Tenn.) four-over 75 was good enough for third place on Monday afternoon at the Bristol Country Club in Bristol, Tennessee.

The Eagles as a team are tied for second place with Converse College, as both lineups posted a score of +28. The leader is host school King University, as they are seven strokes ahead with a +21.

"Reagan Kinnie was excellent," Golf Coach Suzanne Strudwick said. "I'm really thrilled for a 73, that's an excellent score. Elizabeth [England] was nice and steady with her 75. I'm glad to see her back to doing what she does best. Taylor Hayes (Lake Ozark, Mo.) had a disappointing triple bogey on one of the closing holes, otherwise she would've had a score in the 70s. She was really disappointed not to shoot a little bit lower. I'm expecting a little bit better from her tomorrow. Allie Fletcher (Cumming, Ga.) was much improved from the first tournament. Jessica Hart (Roanoke, Va.) had a difficult day shooting an 85. Overall, I'm looking for much better tomorrow."

Kinnie, a freshman playing in just her second collegiate tournament, made four birdies, tied for the second-most in the tournament. England birdied two holes and parred 11, tied for the third-most in the invitational.

Hayes' score of 80 tied her for 16th in the tournament, while Fletcher is currently tied for 26th. Fletcher did birdie three holes on the day, tied for the fourth most. Jessica Hart's 85 tied her for 29th.

King's Fiona Hebbel is the event's individual leader, after carding an even par 71. She sits just two strokes ahead of Kinnie and four shots better than England.

The invitational will finish up tomorrow, as each golfer plays 18 more holes. A complete write-up of the day's action will be available on cneagles.com.
