GERMANTOWN, Tenn. –Elizabeth England (Oakland, Tenn.) closed out her illustrious career with Carson-Newman on Wednesday with a tie for 23rd at the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship South Super Regional at the Germantown Country Club.
The lone C-N senior was 16-over in the event with a total of 232. She was five-over in the final day with a 77, bringing an end to her season.
"Elizabeth finished her journey with Carson-Newman very well," head coach Suzanne Strudwick said. "She played with focus and intensity throughout her career, getting the very most out of her talents.
"As a coach, that's all you can ask for of a player. I am so thankful for her leadership, her fun love nature and grace. We will miss her greatly."
England started the final round three-over in the front nine due to four bogeys with just one bogey, replicating her score in that portion of the course from the first round.
Her run through the back nine was the best of time in the regional with a trio of bogeys and a birdie on 16, landing her at +2 in the portion.
"She played well, but the wind really confused us both," Strudwick mentioned. "It was tough because it has not been up to both the first and second days."
Barry's Tilda Larsson was the top individual with a -7 total of 209. Following her was West Florida's Paloma Vaccaro at +1 while Florida Southern's Amanda Gartrell made a 12 spot jump to land in a tie for third with Tampa's Kiira Riihijarvi at 222.
No. 5 Barry was the top team for another day at 37-over par with a 901 total. Eight strokes behind was No. 10 Rollins in second at 909 with No. 1 Nova Southeastern third at 910.
