Cummins lands spot in ISPS Handa World Invitational

LURGAN, Northern Ireland – Carson-Newman standout Maeve Cummins used a 12-over outing at the Ulster Stroke Play Championship qualify for the ISPS Handa World Invitational in August.

The Waringstown, Northern Ireland-native carded a 308 over four rounds of action on Monday and Tuesday to take runner-up in the tournament and solidify a spot in the European Tour Challenge event. She was 12-shots back of Jessica Ross who was even through the event.

This achievement comes quickly after Cummins wrapped up a stellar debut season at C-N with a share of 20th at the NCAA Division II Women's South Regional. This season, she brought in the program's first South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year accolade along with the Tournament MVP title.

The invitational will take place August 15-18 at the Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort in Ballymena, Northern Ireland and Massereene Golf Club in Antrim, Northern Ireland.
