GREENWOOD, S.C. - Ashley and Hannah Holland both shoot four-over in round one of the Lady Bearcat Invitational to move no. 17/18 Carson-Newman into a tie for fifth in Greenwood.
As a team, the Eagles shot a 20-over 308 through the first 18 holes. Carson-Newman is tied with West Georgia on the edge of the top-five. Both teams sit just five strokes back of Columbus State, as the Cougars sit in first-place with a 15-over 303.
Both Holland sisters sit tied for 13th, shooting a four-over 76. Ashley Holland recorded a birdie on the front nine at the par-five fifth hole, but a quintet of bogeys throughout the day pushed her to four-over. The score is a new career low round score for the freshman.
Hannah Holland is tied with her younger sister at 13th, also shooting a four-over 76. She recovered from a double bogey on the seventh hole to record three birdies on the back-nine, shooting one-under on her final nine holes of the day.

Ellie Haughton struggled on the front-nine, carding a five-over, including a double bogey at the seventh hole. The Lincolnshire, England native recovered well on the back-nine, shooting one-over on her final nine holes and carding a birdie on the tenth hole.
Maeve Cummins recorded her first career hole in one, carding the shot on the 16th hole, a tough shot over the water on a par three. Cummins also carded a birdie on the par-four eighth hole.
