JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The No. 11 ranked Carson-Newman women's soccer team opens up their three-game home stand with Newberry College on Saturday, Sept. 15.

The Wolves (2-3, 1-0 SAC) mark the second league game of the season for the Eagles, and its first home conference contest.

"We're going to have to be on our game. We have a leading goal scorer or two but they have one as well in Alyssa Ortega so we need to be mindful of her movement up top," described Coach Simon Duffy.  "I'm hoping to get that first home conference win under our belt tomorrow."

C-N (4-0, 1-0 SAC) looks to extend its regular season home winning streak to 17 games, as well as building on the overall series lead which holds a 17-6 record in favor of the Eagles.

The Eagles' defense has been impressive in their first four games allowing just two total goals and three or less shots in three of the four games.

"We set some goals aside as a team and one of those we talk about is how many goals we want to concede," explained junior defender Alex Brandan. "We're definitely expecting Newberry to come in and play their best game against us."

Brandan, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., has started all four games this season and chipped in two assists helping the team outscore its opponents 16-2.

Kick off tomorrow night is slated for 7:30 p.m.
