ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the second time in her career and the first of her senior season, Carson-Newman third baseman Katie Pritchett (Ringgold, Ga.) has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Pritchett raked for the Eagles en route to 3-1 week.  The Eagles split with Lincoln Memorial Tuesday before garnering a pair of walk-off wins against Wingate on Friday afternoon.

"It's a little more special winning it this time," Pritchett said. "Part of that's because it's my senior year and it's always nice to be playing well late in that.  The other part is because of how we won Saturday.  To win with walk-offs and with KaraLynne (Levi) and me hitting home runs, that was just a lot of fun.

Pritchett tallied a trio of multi-hit efforts and hit .538 for the week.  She was 7-for-13 at the plate with three home runs; including a walk-off blast against Wingate, seven RBI, four runs scored and a pair of walks.

She had a 1.231 slugging percentage and a .563 on-base percentage for the week.

Pritchett homered twice, once each game, in the Tuesday twinbill at LMU before yanking a 2-1 pitch into the pine trees in left center to down Wingate Friday 5-3.

The walk-off dinger is the second for Pritchett in her career.  She hit a three-run tater to end a SAC tournament game with Coker via the run-rule as a junior.

Pritchett and the rest of the Eagles will be in action Wednesday at 2 p.m. against Mars Hill.  First pitch against the Lions is set for 2 p.m. Coverage will be available on the Eagle Sports Network at cneagles.com/live.
