Lancaster sets another record on final day of Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA – A Carson-Newman swimmer reset the third school record of the weekend during Saturday's session of the Georgia Tech Invitational at McCauley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

Freshman Jon Lancaster (Ringgold, Ga.) set a school record in the mile with a swim of 16:17.84 to finish 17th. Lancaster bested the previous record held by Ethan Webster by nearly 15 seconds.

"This meet went extremely well. We swam according to plan. We had several personal breakthroughs and we did what we came here to do," coach Paige McCord said. "Also, competing with the best like this prepares us for conference and nationals. It was a great weekend."

Sophomore Davis Vincent (Loganville, Ga.) placed 16th in the 200 Back with a swim of 1:50.78. Vincent's time was a tenth of a second shy of a B-cut.
