PHILADELPHIA - For a fourth consecutive year, the Carson-Newman women's and men's swimming programs have been granted Scholar All-America status from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
Both Carson-Newman's men's and women's swim programs finished the year with GPA's higher than 3.00 – the cutoff designated by the CSCAA to earn the accolade. The men's team and its 3.41 GPA had the eighth highest GPA in Division II. The women's team had a 3.50 team GPA, good for 23rd in Division II.
In total, 720 teams, representing 443 institutions achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2017 Semester.
