JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman swimming kicked off its 2018-19 season with its annual Blue's v. Orange intrasquad meet as the orange team took home the crown by a final of 206-204. It's the second-straight win for the side.

It's the closest score between the two sides since the event began in 2016-17. The orange side won last season by a score of 231-178, which included winning 16 events total. In the first year of the event, blue collected the win 213-195.

The two-point win for team orange came down to the final race that was decided by 0.01 seconds.

The format for the intrasquad meet required the senior captains to draft their own teams and look at the strengths and weaknesses when generating and choosing their events.

Maggie Melhorn, Andrew Wheeler, and Patrick McCarty returned to the pool with the addition of Sam Schechter who graduated two years ago.

The coaching staff side included coach Jordan Taylor as he was joined by former C-N swimmer Margaret Stansberry, new assistant Chase Copland, and Ben Young who was an assistant last year and also swam for the Eagles.

With the recent issues and the crash of the school server, the temporary system used to track the meet will now have to be converted over. A PDF of the final results will be posted in the coming days.
