GREENWOOD, Ind. - For a second consecutive year, Carson-Newman women's swimmer Mary Northcutt has been named Google Cloud Academic All-District to the At-Large team.
Northcutt will now take aim at earning back-to-back Google Cloud Academic All-America honors. She is looking to join Nancy Claire Smith as the second women's swimmer to be named Academic All-America in two seperate years. She can become Carson-Newman's ninth two-time Academic All-American.
Northcutt is an exercise science major who carries a 4.0 GPA. She is one of three athletes lauded in District III who has a 4.0. Queens lacrosse player Allison Conn and Wingate tennis player Michela Verpelli are the others.
The Huntsville, Ala.-native was a member of a pair of All-America relay teams at nationals. She earned first team honors with Laurel Sankowski, Elly Culp and Lisa Postma in the 200 free relay and honorable mention All-America honors in the 400 free relay with Culp, Postma and Meredith Ginn.
