JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Patricia Guerreiro (Portugal) received All-South Atlantic Conference honorable mention for women's tennis singles on Tuesday.

"Patricia is such a smart player," Carson-Newman head tennis coach Jean Love said. "She makes very few unforced errors."

Throughout her sophomore season, Guerreiro moved her way from no. 2 singles to no. 1. She finished 2-8 in conference play.

"[Guerreiro] is a competitor," Coach Love said. "You can never count her out of a match."

Her freshman year, Guerreiro was named to the Preseason All-SAC doubles second team.

"The best part about Patricia," Coach Love said, "is that she is just as good of a citizen of the C-N community as she is a tennis player."

The Eagles finished 3-8 in conference play. They are 9-13 overall; their final match is tomorrow against King at 2 p.m.
