
TEMPE, Ariz. - Anita Chornei finds a spot on the ITA's NCAA D-II National Singles Ranking. The senior from Kyiv, Ukraine, is the 44th ranked player on the list.
Chornei is 4-5 in singles matches so far this season. She is 1-0 against nationally ranked opponents and 2-0 against regionally ranked opponents.
Chornei's most notable victory was on Feb. 28th against Lee University. Chornei was matched up against the 24th ranked Ashleigh Simes. Chornei won the first set 7-5, but Simes was able to rally in the second to win 6-2. Chornei won the third set 6-3 to give Carson-Newman one of their two points in the 5-2 loss to Lee.
Carson-Newman women's tennis (0-9) returns to action on Mar. 18th against #24 Anderson University.
