JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - From now until Jan. 1, the Carson-Newman Athletic Communications Department will debut the Frosty Award nominees for the fall semester. Here are the fall nominees for female performance of the year. Tuesday, the nominees for Comeback of the Year will be released.
The second annual Frosty Awards will take place in April and honor athletic excellence in Carson-Newman's athletic department.
Jecca Simerly's 27-point game versus Coker

Simerly recorded the first double-double of the year by a Lady Eagle finishing with career-highs in points and rebounds with 27 and 10. The freshman went 13-for-16 from the floor and chipped in three assists. Simerly became the first player since junior guard Tatum Burstrom (Maryville, Tenn.) poured in 20 at Lenoir-Rhyne on December 14, 2013 to score 20 points in a half as Simerly went 10-for-12 from the floor in the opening half against the Cobras.
Elizabeth England takes Etowah
Freshman women's golfer Elizabeth England posted a two-round total of 148 to pick up the two shot victory over the rest of the field at the Etowah Intercollegiate. England tied a final round low with a score of 75 that propelled her to her first and the program's first individual honor since 2009.
Kristen Pickett pushes Eagles past Wingate
Senior setter Kristen Pickett led the Eagles to a victory over the No. 7 Wingate Bulldogs in five sets on November 1 snapping the Bulldogs' 55-match conference winning streak. It also snapped a string of 25 straight losses in the series that dated back to September 24, 2005. Pickett picked up her 10th double-double of the year with 49 assists and 19 digs helping the Eagles hit .223 in the match.
Jenna Wilson jams Anderson
The All-American racked up a career-high 21 kills on an absurd .436 attack percentage to go along with three block assists and a solo block against the Trojans in a four-set victory on November 7. The 21 kills were the most by an Eagle in a four-set match on the year and the fourth time during the year that Wilson crested the 20-kill plateau.
