WISE, Va. – Eleven different players racked up at least one kill as Carson-Newman secured another sweep Friday night at the Convocation over UVa-Wise 25-21, 25-20 and 25-18 in South Atlantic Conference action.

Of its last 13 victories 10 have been sweeps as Carson-Newman (18-6, 12-5) pushes the losing streak for UVa-Wise (1-21, 0-17) to 21 matches in a row, the fifth-longest active streak in the nation.

Megan Oldenburger (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) was the only player on either side of the net to tally double-digit kills with 11 adding eight digs. Erin Edwards (Midlothian, Va.) was not far behind notching eight on a .364 hitting margin.

With seven kills, Marnie Streeter (Goldvein, Va.) moved into a tie with Rachel Harper (2011-14) for seventh on the school's all-time kills list with 1,272.

Morgan Ballard (Weaverville, N.C.) piled up a match-high 23 digs. The setter duo of Taylor Rohr (Windsor, Colo.) and Elena Vasquez (Riverside, Calif.) registered 16 and 10 assists respectively.

On the night, Carson-Newman accumulated 39 kills hitting .205 as a team with 58 digs, 10 blocks and five service aces.

Scoring nine of the first 11 points of the night, it looked like the Eagles were going to run away with the first set. The bulge expanded to nine at 15-6 before Wise responded with 14 of the next 19 points to tie the margin at 20. After trading points, C-N won the final four capped by back-to-back kills from Streeter to go ahead 1-0.

It was a similar storyline in the second stanza as the Eagles raced out to an 11-4 lead before growing it to 20-10. Wise stormed back to make it 23-19 but it was too much of a deficit as C-N's fourth block of the game closed out set two.

The third game was tied at eight when C-N rattled off six straight points to gain control and provide a margin that was too much to overcome for Wise. The Eagles won the final three rallies of the night as an ace from Emily Harnischfeger (Macedon, N.Y.) put the finishing touches on the evening.

Matelyn Gibson and Kelsey Green each tallied nine kills with nine and 11 digs apiece. Morgan Milligan dished out 26 assists and gobbled up 13 digs as one of four players to finish in double figures in digs.

Wise tallied 34 kills on the night being limited to a .078 hitting margin with 68 scoops, four aces and one rejection.

The Eagles wrap up the weekend with a Saturday evening match down the road in Greeneville taking on Tusculum at 5 p.m. looking to finish a season sweep of the Pioneers.
