JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Saturday's scheduled doubleheader between the Carson-Newman Eagles (5-4, 1-0 South Atlantic Conference) and the no. 19 Tusculum Pioneers (5-3, 0-1 South Atlantic Conference) has been postponed to Sunday due to the threat of inclement weather on the Carson-Newman campus.
The teams will play two seven-inning games, with the first contest beginning at 1 p.m.
Yesterday the Eagles took advantage of six Tusculum errors to win the series opener 9-7, and the win is Carson-Newman's third over a ranked opponent in the past five games.
Senior RHP Alex Britt (0-1, 4.38 ERA) will start on the mound for the Eagles in the first game, with sophomore RHP Quinton Yocum (1-1, 4.38 ERA) getting the nod in the series finale. Coverage of all games of the Tusculum series is available on www.cneagles.com with live stats and broadcasts on the Coca-Cola Eagle Sports Network.
