Nothced a season-high five innings stirking out six to earn the win over Lee on Feb. 19 giving up one run on five hits and one walk... Slammed the door shut for his first-career save against Mars Hill on Feb. 29 working four shutdown innings punching out seven giving up one hit and one walk... Posted a career-high eight strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings giving up one earned run versus Shorter on March 10.

2019 (RS-Freshman): Finished the season second on the team in wins and ERA going 5-1 with a 3.72 ERA in 12 appearances... Won first four career decisions over a five-game span... Hurled five scoreless stanzas to lead 22nd-ranked Carson-Newman to a 9-4 victory over Virginia-Wise on Feb. 19 scattering three hits and two walks...Punched out seven of the 12 batters over four shutout innings against Bluefield State on March 6... Cogburn did not allow a run in 16 1/3 innings over four outings from Feb. 10 to the seventh inning of a game against Belmont Abbey on March 12... Made first-career conference start at Anderson on March 30 where he allowed two homers in a 3-2 loss to the Trojans in the series finale... Yielded one run over six innings in his fifth win of the season at Queens on April 15.
