Orange and Blue draw after nine innings in Game 4 of Orange and Blue World Series

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – On an overcast Monday afternoon at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex, Team Orange and Team Blue came to nine-inning, 7-7 draw in Game 4 of the Orange-Blue World Series.

With runners on the corners and one out in the bottom of the ninth, a shot off the bat of senior first baseman Malik Kyle (Jefferson City, Tenn.) was sent to center fielder Charlie Brown (Sevierville, Tenn.) who fired it home to catcher Dylan Dodson (Huntersville, N.C.) to tag the runner coming home for an 8-2 double play. With inclement weather approaching and the lack of field lights for C-N, skipper Tom Griffin called both teams into shallow left field for a pep talk as the contest was left without a winner.

Team Blue still holds the series advantage heading into the fifth and final game Wednesday with the series count at 2-1-1.Hunt

Junior outfielder Jordan Griffin (Ellerslie, Ga.) opened the scoring for Orange in the top of the first, a rocket shot sent over the left-field wall with runners on first and third to make it 3-0.

Adding an insurance run in the top of the second for Orange, Blue stormed back in the bottom of the second inning with five runs of their own, with the score 5-4 at the end of two innings. Orange would score three runs across the third and fourth innings to take a 7-5 lead all the way to the bottom of the sixth.

Needing a pair to tie the game and win the series outright, Blue earned two runs in the bottom of the sixth to push the contest to extras, where both teams would remain deadlocked until the game's conclusion.

Wednesday's first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m. with live audio provided by the Eagles Sports Network.
