Carey receives Concacaf Nations League call-up

NASSAU, Bahamas – Carson-Newman will be represented in the Concacaf Nations League this coming week with senior Quinton Carey getting the call up from the Bahamas Football Association.

The C-N forward received the selection following Team Bahamas' 2-1 victory over Bonaire in the opening round on September 9. Carey will be a part of the team as it takes on the British Virgin Islands on October 10 in St. Kitts and Nevis within Group B of the field. The Bahamas currently lead the group with three points on the table after the victory. The British Virgin Islands are at the bottom of the group after a loss to Bonaire.

The international competition began back in September with the beginning parts of the group stage matches, leading into the now approaching second round of group stage matches.

Carey, a native of Edmond, Okla., has played in 16 matches through his two seasons at C-N, making the starting Xi three times. He has sent out 13 shot attempts with eight falling on goal and one finding the back of the net. His lone career goal came in a 3-1 win over Queens on Oct. 13, 2018.
