Lady Eagles postpone road trip to Newberry

SAC Return to Play Protocols

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Due to Covid-19 management requirements by Newberry consistent with the South Atlantic Conference's rules, Carson-Newman will have to wait a little while longer to try to get back in the win column as the Lady Eagles announced the postponement of Saturday's road trip to Newberry. No makeup date has been announced at this time.

Coach Mike Mincey's team will target a Monday night visit to Anderson at 5:30 p.m. as its next game on the schedule. The Lady Eagles defeated the Trojans on Dec. 9, 75-62 at Holt Fieldhouse and will try to rebound from their first loss of the season.

Per SAC protocols updated in December found here, a positive test in the team's "inner bubble" prompts a quarantine until contact tracing and testing can be completed. Individuals with a positive test or a high-risk contact must quarantine for 14 days with a 3-5 day acclimatization period to follow.

Every team in the league in adhering to minimum outlined protocols produced by the league and its members for return to play. You can view the document produced by the SAC by clicking here.

Air time on Monday night is slated for 5:15 p.m. with "The Appalachian Electric Cooperative" on The Mountain 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Sevierville) and cneagles.com/live.
