United Soccer Coaches Release

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Carson-Newman women's soccer program has earned the College Team Academic Award for the fourth straight year following the United Soccer Coaches announcement on Thursday morning.

A total of 992 soccer teams (345 men, 647 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the USC Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year. C-N earned a 3.27 GPA in the 2018-19 academic year. The full list of award recipients can be viewed by clicking the link above.

"It's massive for us," Eagles head coach Simon Duffy said. "Each year our team GPA has increased, and increased, and increased. Tremendously proud of the girls, to have the season that we had last year and went as far as we did, to maintain that high GPA standard is another thing that we're immensely proud of in our players.

"When they graduate here, very few have the opportunity to go pro so we want to make sure that the next door opens for them, so they can go and be successful in that career as well."

The Eagles (5-3, 3-1 South Atlantic Conference) will host Queens on Saturday at McCown Field with kickoff at 5 p.m.
