JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Former Carson-Newman soccer All-Americans Magda Mosengo and Holly Talbut-Smith have signed a fresh professional contract in Europe.
Mosengo and Talbut-Smith both inked a contract with the Crawley Wasps FC in the FA Women's National League South in Crawley, England. This makes it official that the three starting forwards from the 2017 National Runner-Up squad for Carson-Newman are furthering their careers and playing professionally.
In her final season as an Eagle, Mosengo led the team in goals (20), assists (8), points (47), shots (94), shots on goal (45) and game winners (6). Her 47 points ties for eighth overall since the team's inception in 1991. She was also named the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year with a First-team All-SAC nod.
Mosengo started a historic two-years at Carson-Newman in 2017, playing an integral part to the team getting to the 2017 NCAA National Championship match where she was named to the All-Tournament squad. Mosengo experienced two-straight SAC regular season and championship titles and claimed a spot on the SAC All-Tournament team each of those seasons. She ended the year ranked 8th in the nation in points and 8th in goals.
Mosengo is the program's all-time leading scorer in NCAA postseason play with 10 goals and three assists. She is tied for second in program history with 13 game winners, second in total goals (40), and third in total points (101). Mosengo finished her career with the fourth-most assists in the history of the women's soccer program at Carson-Newman tallying 13 assists during the 2017 campaign. Also, in the 2018 campaign, Mosengo averaged 1.11 goals per game which stands as 3rd-best in the history of the program.
She helped the team collect its third-straight SAC Championship with three assists in the title game. Mosengo was a second-team All-SAC selection for the first time in her career and earned SAC All-Tournament Team honors for the second-straight season. She recorded seven game-winning goals on the season, with a memorable rocket of a shot in extra time against Tusculum to send the team to a SAC Final. She was named to the NCAA D2 Women's Soccer Championship All-Tournament Team.
Her play was highly recognized on and off the pitch over her two years as part of the C-N program.

Talbut-Smith finished her career as part of the Eagles being named a 2018 Preseason First-team All-SAC while amassing five goals and six assists in 20 games played. In her junior year of 2017, Talbut-Smith put together an impressive season for the Eagles racking up six goals and 10 assists on the year, being third on the team in points with 22, and starting in 21 of the 22 games she saw action. In back-to-back years, the Crawley, England native collected first-team All-SAC honors and Academic All-District honors. For the first time in her career, the junior cracked a spot on All-Southeast Region squad, making the third-team.
In her sophomore year, she played in all 22 games, making 21 starts, completing the season third on the team in goals with eight. Talbut-Smith racked up nine assists, the third most in the South Atlantic Conference and tied for 28th nationally, while her 25 points were tied for fifth most in the SAC. She opened the season with scores in four of C-N's first five matches, compiling 16 points in her team's first eight games. Most notably, she netted the game-winning goal in the SAC Tournament final against Wingate on Nov. 6th, one of four game-winners she was credited within 2016.
In her freshman year, scored the game-winning goal in the 86th-minute against Trevecca Nazarene in her first career match while also scoring the game-winning goal against Armstrong State in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship second round. Tallied a career-high three points with a goal and an assist against Lenoir-Rhyne and tallied a career-high six shots against Alabama-Huntsville.
