Eagles tangle with Crusaders

C-N Game Notes

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman (7-3) will look to keep the good times rolling against Conference Carolinas schools when it takes on North Greenville Tuesday at 3 p.m.

King's 9-3 win on Feb. 15, 2018 represents the last win by a Conference Carolinas program over the Eagles. C-N has won 17 straight against the league, and are 63-13 against schools from the conference over the last seven seasons. The Eagles have split with North Greenville their last two trips to Tigerville.

Abby Fiessinger's next home run will be the 30th of her career. She will become the fourth player in program history with 30 career bombs. Two more dingers and she'll match Mary Shealy for third on the all-time list. Fiessinger is 18th among all active players in Division II for career home runs.

Fiessinger can also realistically move into second on the school's leaderboard for total bases. She has 165 for her career. Her next single will move her into a tie for third with Mandy Stevens. While a triple would move her past Stevens and on level footing with Bri Shoemake. Fiessinger ranks sixth among active players in Division II for total bases.

NGU ranks 11th nationally in shutouts with a quartet of them on the season.

Brianna McRae has been an absolute terror to get out for the Crusaders. McRae is fourth nationally in batting average, and the nation's leader with a .769 on-base percentage. She's slugging 1.111 which is 10th in the country. McRae has a pair of four-hit games and has drive in multiple runs in a third of NGU's games this year. She has reached based in all but one game this season for the Crusaders.

KaraLynne Levi has joined the 50 HBP club. She is second among all active players in times plunked and among the top 20 most hit players in NCAA history.
