2020-21: An elite role player for Carson-Newman, Bykov appeared in 15 games off the bench. He scored 2.5 points per game and added in 1.7 boards.  he had a season-high seven on perfect 3-for-3 shooting against Mars Hill (2/17).  He also had a season-best five boards that game against the Lions. Bykov knocked down 68.2 percent of his shots. 

2019-20: Bykov rounded into form in his junior season by appearing in all but one game for C-N while making 17 starts.   He averaged 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while making 55.0 percent of his shots. Bykov was 3-for-11 from deep. The Moscow, Russia-native hit for a season-high 15 points in back-to-back games on Nov. 26 and 30 against Lincoln Memorial and Wingate.  He knocked down two threes against the Railsplitters for the first time in his career.  He made a career-best six of eight free throws against the Bulldogs.   Bykov topped 10 points five times on the year.   He had five or more boards eight times, including a career-high eight against UVa-Wise (1/22).  

2018-19: Appeared in four games for the Eagles as a reserve post player.  Averaged four points and two rebounds in those appearances.  

2017-18: A reserve post player for the Eagles, Bykov started one game and appeared in 19 for the Eagles. He averaged 4.0 points per game with 1.6 rebounds.  His lone start of the year came agaisnt Lenoir-Rhyne (12/16).  He showed up in a major way with a career-high 16 points against the Bears on 7-of-10 shooting.  He also had eight-point efforts against Catawba (1/6), Newberry (1/20) and Mars Hill (1/24). 

2016-17: Torn labrum, redshirted 

HIGH SCHOOL: Dmitrii Bykov comes to Carson-Newman from Impact Academy in Florida. However, the 6-10, 250-pound center is a native of Moscow, Russia.  In his high school career, Bykov averaged 18.3 points and seven rebounds per game en route to scoring more than 1,500 career points.  He was named the team's MVP for his senior season and was an all-tournament selection at the Impact Winter Classic in 2015-16. 

PERSONAL: The son of Vadim and Marina Bykov, he was an honor roll student for his three years at Impact Academy. He graduated with high honors. he is studying for his masters in business administration at Carson-Newman after graduating with his undergrad degree in business
