HIGH SCHOOL: During his junior year, he recorded 72 tackles, six for loss, two sacks and 500 rushing yards. His senior year with the Warhorses saw him make over 80 tackles with eight for loss, notching four sacks along with 700 rushing yards. Lauded a WHC All-Conference player, he was also named the team’s Back of the Year.

PERSONAL: The son of Lester McDowell, he plans to major in either criminal justice or sports management. His father was an athlete at Mars Hill and his brother, David, played football at Troy University before joining the St. Louis Rams. Another brother, Chris, was an athlete at the University of Kentucky.
