Tripp Faulk begins his first season as a coach in the Carson-Newman baseball program.

Faulk was born in Laurinburg, N.C. and grew up in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Out of high school, Faulk was drafted in the 38th round out of North Myrtle Beach High School by the Atlanta Braves in 2009, 1,138th overall.

The outfielder spent his freshman year at Wingate University winning a conference championship, his sophomore year at USC-Lancaster obtaining an associate's degree in Liberal Arts, then finished remainder of career at Marshall University in Huntington, W.V.

Faulk started his coaching career at Myrtle Beach High School in the spring of 2014. Spent the summer of 2014 coaching the 15U EvoShield Canes leading them to two top-three finishes at national invitational events. He spent last year at Wingate University helping them win the South Atlantic Conference tournament championship and clinching a regional berth for the first time since 2011.

He graduated in May 2015 from Wingate University with a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies. His father, Paul Faulk, played in the San Francisco Giants organization and has been employed within professional baseball for almost 30 years with six different teams. He also has coached at multiple high schools in North Carolina as he is in the North Carolina High School Baseball Coaches' Hall of Fame. He currently is an area scout for the Washington Nationals.
