Brandon Turner begins his first year as assistant coach, working with the hitters and infielders. Brandon will also be involved with recruiting.

A native of Cleveland, Tenn., Turner played at Walker Valley High School and was a All-State selection after his junior and senior years. He was named in 2005 to the Louisville Slugger All-American Team.

Turner attended Mississippi State and was selected to the Freshman All-American Team by Baseball America in 2007, after finishing second in the SEC in hitting (.399). Turner also helped lead the Bulldogs to the College World Series that same year.

Turner was selected in the 12th round of the MLB Draft by the Florida Marlins after the 2008 season. He was selected to the NY-Penn League All-Star game in 2008 and finished third in the league in hitting.

Turner graduated from Lee Univeristy in Physical Education. He is married to Morgan Lyle and resides in Knoxville, Tenn.
