HIGH SCHOOL: Chapman attended Tyner Academy, where he played football as a defensive lineman. He started every game of his senior season and had an impressive performance, recording 87 tackles, eight sacks, and five forced fumbles. His play earned him the title of All-Region Lineman of the Year and All-State recognition.

PERSONAL: The son of Shannon Chapman and Amanda Joy. He was a member of the Paideia Society in high school. He chose Carson-Newman because of its strong reputation in D2 football, the care shown by the coaches toward the players, and the serious approach to strength and conditioning.
