HIGH SCHOOL: Mason finished his senior season at Lauderdale County playing for Jeff Mason with 136 tackles, seven sacks and three forced fumbles.  He led north Alabama in tackles his senior season.  He finished his high school career with 336 tackles, 17 sacks and five forced fumbles.  Mason was the Region 8 Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, as well as the linebacker of the year. He was n all-state selection and two-time all-region choice.  He helped Lauderdale County to its first undefeated season in 50 years with a region title and state quarterfinal appearance. 

PERSONAL: The son of Jeff and Amy Mason, his sister Emily was a second-team All-SAC selection for Dean Walsh with the Carson-Newman women's basketball program in 2007-08.
