The Kodak, Tennessee native makes the transition, having played college golf at Tennessee Tech from 2018-21. In the spring of 2019, she was named the team's impact award winner and most dedicated player. Lawson received her first career all-tournament honor after placing fourth at the MSU Greenbrier Invitational. The fall of 2019 was her best season, with a scoring average of 75.85. She competed in 22 total events over the course of four seasons with the Golden Eagles. 

During her time at Tennessee Tech, Lawson was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll four times. She majored in political science.
