Eagles take home first place at NCA summer camp

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Carson-Newman cheerleading squad took home first place in the small Co-ed Game day competition, for the second consecutive year at the National Cheerleaders Association college summer camp.

"I am so proud of my athletes!" Carson-Newman spirit squad coach Christy Bowlin said, "They put in the work and it paid off."
The team came in second during the rally routine portion of the competition. The team as a whole was awarded one of the eight Gold Bids to Nationals on the final day of camp.  
Over 850 cheerleaders and dancers attended this year's NCA camp in Myrtle Beach.
