2015-2016: Shank’s debut season donning the Orange & Blue saw the freshman win two Southeast Region Championships and a South Atlantic Conference Championship in the men’s pole vault. The freshman from Granite Quarry, N.C. recorded an outdoor and career-best of 4.75 meters at the Adidas Winthrop Invitational on March 24 with an indoor high-mark coming at the Camel City Invitational on Feb. 21 following a mark of 4.55 meters.

Shank holds both Carson-Newman men’s pole vaulting records and was named to the All-Southeast Region team for both the indoor and outdoor slates.

High School: Attended Rowan High School where he was coached by Rick Roseman and John Fritz... Was a seven-time All-State, two-time conference champion and a three-time Rowan County chamion... Had a best of 4.70m (15'5") in the pole vault...
