Eagles play fifth annual SAC game at Smokies Park

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – For the second straight year, Carson-Newman (13-18, 9-9 South Atlantic Conference) will open their series with Lincoln Memorial (17-16, 10-8 SAC) at the home of the Tennessee Smokies – the double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

Carson-Newman will be the road team at Smokies Park before the series shifts to Harrogate, Tenn. for a doubleheader Saturday.  First pitch is slated for 7:15 p.m. Friday from Sevierville

Tickets are 10 dollars and can be purchased by contacting the baseball office at 865-471-3465.  Carson-Newman receives six dollars on all tickets that are purchased prior to the game.

The game marks the fifth straight year the Eagles have played at Smokies Park.  Last year, Carson-Newman took a 9-8 decision in a walk-off win following an LMU rally.

The Eagles have lost a school record 11 consecutive games and are looking for their first win since beating Mars Hill 13-2 in the first week of March.
