    HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Carson-Newman (30-16) and Coker (24-16) battled to a pair of shutouts Sunday afternoon. The Eagles dropped game one 1-0 before forcing the Cobras to lay a goose egg in game two with a 3-0 win.

    COLUMBUS, Ga. – Brittany Hefner (Talbot, Tenn.) collected seven RBI and two home runs, but it wasn’t enough for Carson-Newman (15-5) as the Eagles dropped both games of a doubleheader to Columbus State (14-9) 2-1 and 11-8. It’s the first time this year C-N has lost both games of a doubleheader.
