Eagles win two game scrimmage against Montreat College

Jefferson City, Tenn. – Carson-Newman softball took two games in a scrimmage against Montreat College Sunday afternoon.  It was the first time the Eagles played with new players for the first time this fall season.

Carson-Newman Head Coach Vickee Kazee-Hollifield said she was pleased with how her team attacked the ball offensively and defensively.

"It was great to play against other opponents and it helped to show what we need to work on to get prepared for upcoming season in February," Kazee-Hollifield said.

The Eagles had a plethora of hits in both games to give them more than 10 runs in each contest.

"We need to continue to work hard and we have to stay humble, we have to stay hungry, but I am excited with the potential and ability that we have out here," Kazee-Hollifield said.

The Eagles play in their next scrimmage October 6, 2012 at Walters State Community College.
