Robertson's Rundown: November 30, 2015

Robertson's Rundown: November 30, 2015

The anticipation of the holidays was nothing compared to what we felt last Tuesday afternoon. We were all excited to get home to our families but we had some unfinished business with the NCAA playoffs first!

As we anxiously awaited to hear of fate from the selection show, there were all sorts of tid bits going around. Who beat who in our region since the last rankings came out, who lost to who earlier in the season, all reasons to believe that we could have dropped out of the top eight. But it was too late to do anything now.

Our regular season was over, time to find out if our determination was good enough to get us to post season! At first the volume on our TV stopped working and we all freaked out, but thankfully they started with different regions and by the time ours came around we got it up and running again! We held our breath and each other's hands as our locker room fell silent.

Then of course the screen froze. It was a very traumatic experience for us all! Once coach told us all to get off our dang phones so the internet could speed up, it started working just in time to hear "... But first they have to get past Carson Newman, the fourth seed!" Our locker room erupted with celebration! And that right there gave us one more reason to be thankful on Turkey Day.

We all got to leave to celebrate thanksgiving with our family feeling extremely blessed and extra thankful. After a much needed 4 days of rest and good food and quality time with family, we came back to the newman ready to work.

Our first practice back was one to remember, and one of the best practices we have ever had together. We set the tone for the rest of the week and for how we were going to enter into the first round of the tourney. We have been talking about our team "peaking" all season long and after so much hard work I think we have finally made it!! We are so excited to travel to USC Aiken to play this week and I hope to have news of going to the second round after!

Go eagles and God Bless,
