Happy Halloween everyone!!! Looking back on the season so far, it's crazy to believe that we only have five games left! This past week we saw a huge surge of our competitive energy. With a road match at Tusculum last Tuesday and what a game that was. With a doozy set in the beginning, two sweeps in set two and three, another doozy and we're back in the fifth. That's the beauty of volleyball though, you have five chances to do your best, and hopefully three of the five work out. The game went to the Pioneers but again our relentless fighting showed.
Since it was my birthday, my wonderful mom surprised us all by having cupcakes delivered to the gym! Some people were in on it, but it was so great of her! Gotta love Patricia.
Wednesday was our Halloween practice and all I can say is omg. Everyone was hilarious! Some people really went all out, like Anna's full-body Avatar suit and Coach Kyle even shaved his beard to be Wolverine. I can honestly say, I don't think any of us had seen his chin before.
Thursday we had a crazy competitive practice that carried over to our matches on Friday and Saturday. The Coker match was really high energy and even though we only went to four sets, our improvement from our first Coker match was evident. But there was no time to hang our heads, we had to prep for Wingate on Saturday! With Saturday being homecoming, a bunch of us had some good snacks, took some good pictures, and most importantly, made an Eagle stuffed animal! Super fun day, but back to the game – and what. a. fun. game! We had them playing their hardest and every point was a battle. It was only in the last few points of set four that Wingate took the game, but it was a victory in our books. Everyone spent the weekend with their friends and families, and we are looking forward to making the most of our last games!
