For the second consecutive day the Carson-Newman men’s and women’s track team made news with four athletes being named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches All-Academic Individuals list.

Both the men’s and women’s track teams at Carson-Newman were named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team for the 2016-2017 academic year on Friday afternoon.

ROCK HILL, S.C. - For a third consecutive academic year, Carson-Newman has put more than 130 student athletes on the South Atlantic Conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll in back-to-back academic years.

AUSTIN, Texas - Carson-Newman junior high jumper Tanner Stepp (Jefferson City, Tenn.) closed out his third year at Mossy Creek with Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Carson-Newman junior, Tanner Stepp (Jefferson City, Tenn.) is the national runner-up in the men's high jump competition, with a jump of 2.13 meters at the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday evening.

AUSTIN, Texas – Carson-Newman’s track and field teams placed three athletes on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday at noon.
In day one of the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Carson-Newman long jumper Kristofer Potts-Howard (Tullahoma, Tenn.) finished 13th with a jump of 6.99 meters.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.—The Carson-Newman outdoor track and field team will resume activates Saturday, May 6, at the Tennessee Challenge as coach David Needs again sends a select number of individuals to the nearby Division I powerhouse with hopes of improving national qualifying marks in preparation for the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships that is set to take place at the tail end of May in Bradenton, Fla.
