C-N Senior Women's Administrator Strudwick qualifies for Senior US Women's Open

ATLANTA - Former Carson-Newman head women's golf coach and the athletic department's associate AD for Compliance/Senior Women's Administrator Suzanne Strudwick has qualifie for the US Senior Women's Open.

Strudwick led the field in qualifying in Atlanta, Ga. at the Atlanta Country Club. She fired an even-par 72 to finish tied for first for the event with Patricia Ehrhart. 

The ageless Cheshire, England native birdied the par five second before bogeying the 133-yard, par-three sixth hole to finish the front half at even par.  

The back nine went much the same way for Strudwick. She bogeyed the 13th hole, a 129-yard, par three before working her way back to even par with a birdie on 17 - a 368-yard par-four hole.  

The 2014 SAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year, Strudwick will be eligible to compete at the Senior Open in Kettering, Ohio at the NCR Country Club from Aug. 25-28. 

A veteran of the LPGA tour, Strudwick was named the LPGA's Rookie of the Year in 1993. She owns 57 top-10 finishes in her career.
