WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Florida Tech University Panthers used a 17-2 run to rally from a seven-point second half deficit to knock off the Carson-Newman Lady Eagles, 73-59, at Warden Arena on the Rollins University campus on Wednesday afternoon. 

With the win, Florida Tech improves to 11-1, while the Lady Eagles fall to 5-6.

Carson-Newman led by four at the half and by as many as seven in the early moments of the second half, before the Panthers rallied with their decisive run.

The Lady Eagles held the Panthers managed to only 40 percent from the floor for the game, but Florida Tech shot an impressive 8-of-13 (61.5 percent) from three-point range to seize control, including 5-of-6 in the second half.

C-N held Florida Tech to just 34.6 (18-of-52) percent from inside thee arc, but couldn't overcome the Panthers' long-range attack.

Senior guard Mandy Mendenhall (Kingston Springs, Tenn.) led the Lady Eagles with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor.  

Senior Caitlin Moore (Fort Mill, S.C.) added 10 points for the Lady Eagles.

Carson-Newman returns to action on Thursday against tournament host Rollins University. Tipoff is at noon at Warden Arena.
