Thinking About Transferring?
Considering entering the NCAA Transfer Portal? Here’s what you need to know:
- Talk to Your Coach First
– Before beginning the process, have an open conversation with your head coach about your intentions. - Written Notification Required
– You must provide written notification of transfer (send an email to cmcelhaney@cn.edu) before Carson-Newman can enter you into the NCAA Transfer Portal. - Mandatory NCAA Division II Transfer Educational Module
– Before your name can be entered in the portal, you must complete the NCAA Division II Transfer Educational Module.
– At the end of the module, save your certificate of completion and include it as an email confirmation when sending your written notification to compliance.

– Once Carson-Newman receives both (a) your written notification and (b) confirmation of the completed educational module, the institution has seven consecutive calendar days to enter your information into the NCAA Transfer Portall
