Class of 1990

Gil Luttrell (1964) -- Winner of the “Mr. Hustle” award during the 1963 NAIA National Basketball Championships in Kansas City, Gilbert was selected as an All-American in 1963 and 1964. He had the distinction of playing four years of basketball at C-N and competed in the national tournament each of those years. Gil also played baseball at the college.

William H. “Dusty” Roden (1947) -- Roden earned multiple letters in Football and basketball. He served as captain of the 1946 football squad and was President of the Senior class. Not only did Dusty compete in two sports at C-N, he also coached football and basketball at the college and later served as Dean of Students.

T.J. Stafford (1938) -- Stafford earned letters in both football and basketball at Carson-Newman. He was a member of the 1936 football team -- the only squad in C-N history to go undefeated. T.J. was also a member of the once beaten 1936-37 basketball squad. He served his alma mater as an assistant coach for several years and held the rare distinction of coaching both the football and basketball teams as Head Coach in 1950 and 1951.
