- Dr. Ward was born in Memphis, TN and raised in Jefferson and Knox County.
- Dr. Ward went to Carson Newman College from 1983-1987 and graduated with BA in Biology. He was an Academic All American on the Football team. While there, he and his football team won 3 National Championships.
- Dr. Ward attended medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis from 1987-1991.
- In residency, Dr. Ward specialized in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics from 1991-1995 at University of Tennessee in Memphis.
- Dr. Ward was a Hospitalist and Pediatric Consultant at Methodist Hospital of Fayette in Somerville, Tennessee in 1995-1999.
- Dr. Ward began working at Phillips Medical Group in 1999 when it was formerly St. Mary’s Talbott. He became co-owner and opened Phillips Medical Group in 2001.
