Bio

Scalzo will manage media relations for softball, track & field and tennis in the fall.

Scalzo is a 2024 graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Sports Studies.  He has a certificate from the Curley Center for Sports Journalism. 

He served as a broadcaster for ESPN+ and Big Ten+, calling Penn State volleyball, hockey, baseball, lacrosse and women's basketball.  For the last year, Scalzo has served as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Post University Eagles. Mount Saint Mary Knights and the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. He has also broadcast selected games on the Northeast Sports Network for Connecticut College, Trinity College and Wesleyan University, doing men's hockey, men's and women's squash, along with men's and women's lacrosse. Additionally, Scalzo was the voice of the CACC Softball Championships held at the University of Bridgeport. 

He served as the Sports Director for CommRadio at Penn State, while also broadcasting sports such as Penn State football, basketball, hockey, baseball, lacrosse and volleyball. Scalzo covered events such as the 2023 Big Ten Tournament and the 2023 Peach Bowl. He spent the two summers broadcasting summer baseball. In 2022, he was with the Sanford Mainers and was voted as the North Division All-Star Broadcaster. A year later, he joined the Bourne Braves in the Cape Cod League.
