JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman football's Curt Duncan (Morristown, Tenn.) and William Alderman (Brooksville, Fla.) have both been named to the 2013 CoSIDA Academic All-Super Region II team.
Duncan, a 2012 Academic All-American, makes his second straight appearance on the All-District team, while Alderman makes his first appearance on the team.
Alderman is a physical education major with a 3.32 GPA. Duncan is studying English Literature and has a 3.30.
Duncan has connected on 12 of his 18 field goals this year, including a season long 41-yarder against Shorter. He's also made 38 of his 41 extra points. Duncan ranks second all-time in Carson-Newman history for made field goals with 27. His 185 points are the fourth most all-time at Carson-Newman by a kicker.
Duncan leads the Eagles in scoring this year with 74 points.
Alderman has come to life in his junior season, leading Carson-Newman with his five quarterback sacks. Alderman ranks seventh in the league for that stat.
The Eagles pair of Academic All-District selections are tied for the most in the state of Tennessee with Cumberland and Vanderbilt across all divisions.
