JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman head football coach Mike Turner unveiled a throwback when the Eagles' held their first team meeting Wednesday afternoon in the Ken Sparks Athletic Complex.

Turner unveiled the Eagles' helmets for 2017, which mark the return of the stripe to C-N's domes for the first time since the 1995 season.  

Carson-Newman went 149-41 with a blue and white stripe down the middle of its helmets from 1980-1995.  

"This a part of tradition at Carson-Newman," Turner said. "This is slick. Everybody can believe we are back to this tradition at Carson-Newman." 

The Eagles open up spring practice on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Burke-Tarr Stadium.
