    MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman College men finished ninth at the 2011 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships held Saturday morning. On the men’s side, the top finisher was junior Angel Soriano (Weatherford, Texas) who took the 37th spot with a time of 28:47.3.

    MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman College women took fourth place in the 2011 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday. Junior runner Hannah Reese (Brandon, Miss.) took seventh place in the individual competition with a time of 20:34.5. Reese was also the only Carson-Newman runner named to the All-Conference team.

    ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman junior Brooke Earhardt has been named to the Preseason Cross Country All-South Atlantic Conference second team, and the lady Eagles have been picked to finish fifth as a team, the league office announced Wednesday. Earhardt finished 15th at last season’s SAC Championships and third at the Railsplitter Invitational.

    ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Carson-Newman Eagle shave been picked to finish eighth in the 2011 South Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the league announced Wednesday. Carson-Newman received 26 points in the poll. The Eagles will host the 2011 SAC Championships Oct. 22 at panther Creek State Park in Morristown, Tenn. C-N opens its season Sept. 2 at the Eye Opener in Spartanburg, S.C.
