From now until Jan. 1, the Carson-Newman Athletic Communications Department will debut the Frosty Award nominees for the fall semester. These are the fall nominees for Team of the Year. Christmas, we'll unveil the candidates for Play of the Year.
The fourth annual Frosty Awards will take place in April and honor athletic excellence in Carson-Newman's athletic department.

Women's Soccer: Coach Richard Moodie's team posted a 17-4-1 record and captured the SAC regular season and tournament titles for the second consecutive year. They set a new program best by having ten players selected to the SAC all-conference teams and junior Lauren Wade (Coleraine, Northern Ireland) was named SAC Player of the Year, the second consecutive year the team had player capture that honor. Freshman goalkeeper Jacqueline Burns (Cookstown, Northern Ireland) also broke the SAC record for shutouts in a season with 14 clean sheets. They qualified for the NCAA Tournament and earned their 12th tournament win in program history by shutting out Limestone 2-0. They finished the season with 78 goals, the fourth-highest total in Division II.
Men's Golf: Coach Randy Wylie's group is currently receiving votes in the Golf Coaches Association of America Coaches poll and they also own the third-best scoring average in the SAC. Three Carson-Newman golfers are in the conference's top 10 in scoring average as Dalton Reese (Warrenton, Ga.) sits in seventh, Jake Headrick (Maryville, Tenn.) is in eighth and Tom Forster (Oundle, England) is in 10th.
Women's Golf: The Eagles captured the title at the King University Invitational in September, finishing three strokes ahead of the host school, the King Tornado. Junior Elizabeth England (Oakland, Tenn.) claimed the top spot on the individual leaderboard, tying the conference record with a second-round 68. England is also tied for fifth in the SAC in stroke average with a mark of 77.2.
Men's Swimming: The men, who are currently ranked 6th by CollegeSwimming.com, began their season by finishing second in the National Collegiate Open Water Championships to the University of Cincinnati. They followed that up with victories over Limestone, the University of the Cumberlands and King (Tenn.). During those three dual meets, they had a swimmer finish first in 35 of 36 races. At the Bearcats Midseason Invitational in November, the team set four records, including clocking the fastest time in the 200 free relay in the history of the Keating Aquatics Center at the University of Cincinnati. They also captured seven wins in the meet against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Women's Swimming: The 10th ranked women's swim team has participated in three meets at Maddox Pool this season and in 36 races, they've had one of their student-athletes claim the top spot in all but one of them. Those victories helped Carson-Newman claim wins over Limestone, Cumberlands and King (Tenn.). At the Bearcats Midseason Invitational, C-N competed with two Division I programs and earned a second place finish, topping the Indiana State Sycamores. They set five records during the three day competition and claimed one first place finish.
