Dake Qualifies for Sea Ray Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Carson-Newman senior Catelyn Dake (Knoxville, Tenn.) has qualified for the prestigious Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville on the campus of the University of Tennessee.

Dake will compete in the event on Friday. The Sea Ray Relays feature some of the nation's top track and field athletes both in college and professionally, with well over 75 schools represented at the meet.

Dake is the school record holder in the 400-meter run, the 800, and the 1600-meter relay and is the reigning South Atlantic Conference champ in all three events. Through the course of her career at C-N, she has been conference champ in the 400 (2008, 2009), while in 2007 she finished second.

In the 800, she was conference champion in 2008 and 2009. She was also a member of the conference's best 1600-meter relay team in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Her times in those events have earned her top five regional times in each of those events. In the fall she earned All-Conference Cross Country honors and also earned Academic All-American honors.
