Clemmer named to CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team

AUSTIN, Texas – Carson-Newman men's swimmer Joey Clemmer has been lauded with a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large team, CoSIDA announced late Thursday evening.

The selection is the first for Clemmer in his career.  It's the men's swimming program's first honoree since Paden Duke was recognized in 2020.

Clemmer wrapped up his Carson-Newman career as a physics major with a 3.95 GPA.

Clemmer now qualifies for selection to the Academic All-America teams, which Duke was selected to in 2020.

Clemmer set a Division II 'B' provisional time in the men's 200-yard breaststroke with a finals time of 2:00.70 at the Royal Open. He followed this performance up with a time trial in the event with a time of 2:00.18, the fourth-fastest event time for Carson-Newman men's swimming in its history.

He also turned in a "B" qualifying time at the Tennessee Invitational.  The breaststroker turned in a 2:00.40 in the 200, setting his second top-five program time in the event. Clemmer finished his C-N career with three of the five fastest time in program history.
