Eagles drop 7-2 decision to Mount Olive

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team fell to Mount Olive, 7-2, on Friday afternoon at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.

With the loss, the Eagles drop to 2-4 on the season.

C-N's only team points came at No. 2 doubles and No. 5 singles. The duo of Paul Birdsong (Woodstock, Ga.) and Adriano Kira (Brazil) claimed an 8-5 win in No. 2 doubles action. Kira also won at No. 5 singles against Diogo Sender by a score of 1-6, 6-3 and 10-6.

The Eagles return to action against Cedarville (Ohio) on Saturday. Match time is at 10:00 a.m. in Jefferson City.
